DERA MURAD JAMALI: A Frontier Corps officer was killed and two soldiers were injured in a landmine blast in Chhattar area of Nasirabad district on Sunday, official sources said.
An FC vehicle was on patrol duty in Chhattar area when it hit the landmine planted by saboteurs, they said. Captain Saeed lost his life and Subedar Badshah Nor and Hawaldar Mohammad Ramzan were injured in the incident. They were taken to Dera Murad Jamali hospital and from there shifted to Quetta.
Law-enforcement agencies launched a search operation in the area to arrest those behind the attack.
Meanwhile, a spokesman for the banned Baloch Republican Army (BRA), Sarbaz Baloch, claimed responsibility for the landmine blast in Chhattar area as well as a bomb attack on a 24-inch diameter gas pipeline in Sui.
