Beaten up, detained

I AM an ordinary law-abiding citizen, aged about 50 years. On the night of Dec 24 last, I was beaten up, detained and locked up for standing outside the main gate (which is rarely used) of the State Guest House on Abdullah Haroon Road while waiting for a rickshaw to go home.

During detention, the security officers sneakily stole Rs1,000 from my wallet.

Our elite can keep their palaces, including the state guest house, Bilawal House and Raiwand farms, but they may kindly return the roads and streets to the common man. This includes the main and service roads in front of Bilawal House, which have remained in unscrupulous occupation for a long time.
