THIS refers to your editorial ‘Celebrating iron ore discovery’ (Feb 13). A televised statement of the chief minister stated that there are ‘rivers of gold flowing’ under the discovery of iron ore.
Sadly, in these times of disarray, our leadership is using bad tactics to gain mileage with the uninformed public. The rulers should stop trying to make fool of the public.
It would be prudent to have an authoritative organisation, not beholden to influentials, hold an honest and proper audit of all the land in the ‘discovery’ area sold since 2010 in the district and surrounding areas to determine who sold and who bought each piece of land and at what rates to compare with present market rates.
Perhaps, that may reveal interesting information for the benefit of the people.
